# How to open a popup window with jquery

Generally popups are considered bad-ish, but sometimes they’re handy. For
example when opening an audio player.

The following expects you to have the following HTML:

```html
<a class="popper" html="#">Pop it</a>
```

```js
$(function () {
  $('.popper').click(function () {
    var href = $(this).attr('href')
    window.open(href, 'popup', 'height=500,width=400,toolbar=no')
    return false
  })
})
```

This will give you a pop-up window 500px tall and 400px wide.
